MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - Moncks Corner police are searching for a robber who jumped over a pharmacy counter and threatened an employee with a knife.

Police responded to a store in the 300 block of N. Highway 52 on Saturday at approximately 9:37 p.m. where a store employee said the man jumped the counter and brandished what appeared to be a steak knife, the incident report states.

The victim told police the man forced her to open the pharmacy's safe where narcotics are stored and demanded she give him all of their "Oxy 30s." She said she gave him two full bottles and two partial bottles of Oxycodone pills and closed the safe, the report states. She said the man then made her open the safe a second time and he took a bottle of Opana.

The man then jumped back over the counter and ran out of the store, the report states.

The victim told police the man appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance and was "shaking and jumpy" during the robbery, adding that he would put the knife in his pants pocket, then pull it out again. The man also appeared to be wearing latex gloves during the incident, she said.

A witness told police he was in the parking lot and saw the man the victim described exiting the store "at a jogging pace" and ran towards a nearby motel. Police searched the motel and interviewed several people but did not find any evidence connected to the crime, the report states.
