One dead, three injured after car accident in Williamsburg County

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - South Carolina Highway Patrol reports one person is dead, and three others are injured after a car accident in Williamsburg County Friday night.

Authorities say the crash happened at 8:25 p.m. Friday night on Highway 261.

Highway patrol reports the driver of a Toyota Camry was traveling east on the highway when they crossed over into the westbound lane, striking a Toyota Avalon.

Officials say the one of the passengers in the Avalon was killed in the collision.  Authorities say the driver and other passenger of the Avalon were flown to a nearby hospital for serious injuries.

Authorities report the driver of the Camry was also flown to a nearby hospital for serious injuries.

No word yet on their condition.

The Williamsburg County Coroner's Office has not yet released the name of the victim.

The accident remains under investigation.
