NCPD investigating shooting, stabbing reported minutes apart

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - North Charleston police are investigating two incidents Friday afternoon involving a shooting and a stabbing that sent victims to the hospital.

Authorities responded to the area of East Montague Ave. and Nesbit Ave. around 3:23 p.m. for a report of shots fired. Officers say they arrived to find a male suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was transported to MUSC.

At 3:35 p.m., police were called to Nason Medical Center on Rivers Avenue after a male was dropped off with stab wounds. The victim was also transported to MUSC.

According to officers, the suspect in the first shooting was a black male wearing a red jacket who was riding an aqua-colored bike.

Police say both incidents are under investigations, and they do not know at this time if the two incidents are related.
