Police looking for armed robber after shots fired

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police say they are looking for a man who attempted to rob a woman downtown and fired shots as he fled the scene.

Police responded Saturday morning at approximately 12:13 a.m. to a report of shots being fired in the 200 block of Coming Street.

A woman told police she had just been the target of an armed robbery attempt. The victim said a man wearing a black zip-up hoodie and red bandana over his face approached her and demanded her property.

After a brief struggle, witnesses arrived and the suspect fled south on Coming Street while firing several shots as he ran.

There were no reports of injuries, police say.
