LINCOLNVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County Sheriff's Office is investigating after three people were injured following a shooting in Lincolnville Tuesday afternoon.
An incident report states a deputy was working on a report at the Lincolnville office when he heard several shots fired from the area of W. Pine Street around 4:54 p.m. The officer responded to the area, where he found a victim staggering in the front yard of a home in 700 block of Mason Street.
The victim, who was reportedly shot in the leg, took off his shirt to reveal he was wearing a police-styled bullet proof vest.
While treating the victim, deputies say a person arrived at the scene to tell officers a second victim was shot and was lying in the grass at 415 W. Broad Street. A third victim, identified as 30-year-old Dontarius Pringle, suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks.
While tending to the man who was shot in the leg, deputies say a person exited the house on the property and stated she was inside when someone started firing bullets into her home. Her and another person inside were able to get on the floor to avoid injury, she said.
She told deputies the first victim was a family friend, but was not inside the house at the time of the shooting. The victim claimed he was on the back porch, but would not provide information on the shooting.
Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots, and witnessed a fight spill out onto the street before seeing several people run from the area.
While deputies were clearing the scene, the report states a witness and Pringle ran away. Pringle was found in nearby woods and detained by deputies. A records check confirmed Pringle was wanted by Dorchester County Deputies for armed robbery.
All three victims were transported to the Medical University of South Carolina. The extent of their injuries has not been released by investigators.
The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office and the Summerville Police Department also responded to the scene.
Another shooting victim showed up at the Summerville Medical Center, but it is not known if it's related to the shooting on Mason Street.
