NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the North Charleston Fire Department say a gas leak on Reddin Road has been contained.

According to NCFD officials, crews responded to the Palmetto Rental Apartments on Reddin Rd just after 5:45 p.m. Initial reports stated a trailer struck a gas main near the apartment.

Authorities say the apartment complex was evacuated, and the CARTA bus system had provided a bus to shelter 20 residents. Fire department personnel contained the leak, while SCE&G remains on scene to complete the repairs.

All residents have been allowed back in their homes and Reddin Road remains open.

There have been no reported injuries.
