Authorities: Police respond to auto-pedestrian accident in N. Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Emergency officials say police responded to an auto-pedestrian accident in North Charleston Wednesday night.

According to dispatch officials, the incident happened on Ashley Phosphate near the area of Peppermill Parkway.

North Charleston police officials say that a male subject was crossing the road when he was struck by a vehicle. Police say the victim was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Motorists reported officers picking up evidence at the scene.

According to witnesses, a small section of one lane was blocked near the 3300 block of Ashley Phosphate Road as authorities worked the scene.
