DCSO: Man shot in neck off Ashley Phosphate Road

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Dorchester County Sheriff's Office confirms one person was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning following a shooting in North Charleston.

Deputies say the victim claimed he was shot just before 5 a.m. near the parking lot of Food Lion off Ashley Phosphate Road. The injured man then drove to Hess Mart on Cross County Road for help.

According to officials, the victim was transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound to the neck.

No word at this time on possible suspects.

The shooting is under investigation.
