NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Crews have fully restored power for North Charleston customers who were knocked offline when a driver hit an electric pole.
It all began at approximately 2:30 p.m. when North Charleston police attempted to make a stop in reference to a report of a stolen car on Ashley Phosphate Road at Rivers Avenue, according to North Charleston Police spokesman Spencer Pryor.
The driver did not stop, Pryor said, and led police on a chase up Ashley Phosphate to Stall Road.
At that point, the driver hit a power pole at Midland Park Road and Stall Road and knocked out power to more than 1,000 people.
Police say the driver was arrested after the crash.
