CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - If you missed out on snagging tickets to April's TEDxCharleston when they went on sale Wednesday, you may be out of luck.

Officials with the wildly popular think-tank event say all 500 available tickets sold out in less than 12 hours, making it the fastest sell out in in its three year history.

"We are so happy that Charlestonians jumped at the chance to attend this year's TEDxCharleston "Embrace Chaos" event," said Edith Howle, curator of TEDxCharleston. "Selling out in less than 12 hours exceeded our expectations, but goes to show how important this event is to Charleston."

TEDxCharleston brings together a diverse group of thinkers and visionaries to share their stories and provide inspiration with the public. With the theme of "Embrace Chaos," this year's speakers will show how to use chaos as a construct for creativity and change.

Speakers and performers for the April 15 event at Charleston Music Hall were announced Wednesday, and includes inventors, entrepreneurs,  scientists, artists, and everything in between. Several of the speakers have local ties.

"This year's topics will leave us all inspired to address life's challenges, both big and small, differently, more productively and with an eye to real change," Howle said.

There are no plans at this time to make additional tickets available for the event, officials say.
