CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - As of last week tow-away signs are now posted on Middle Atlantic Wharf in the historic district.
The street used to have free parking, but now the city is looking at different options.
Hernan Pena, director of the city's Traffic and Transportation Department, would like to keep the historic look to the area, which could mean no parking on the street.
Some employees and business owners in the area are concerned about parking availability. One person mentioned it's always tough to find parking for themselves and customers, especially when t the garages are always full.
The city is aware of the parking issues downtown and is considering several options over the next couple of weeks.
Some of those ideas could include metered parking, or restricted parking.
