Berkeley County School District hosting meet-and-greet with superintendent finalists

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The first of three meet-and-greets with the finalists for the next Berkeley County School District superintendent will be held Wednesday night.
The public meeting will be held at district headquarters in Moncks Corner starting at 5:30 p.m. District officials named Dr. Jason Van Heukelum, Dr. Barry Shepherd and Dr. Rocky Killian as finalists last week.
District employees can began attending the meeting at 4:30 p.m.
The new superintendent will replace former Superintendent Rodney Thompson. Thompson was indicted on ethics charges earlier this month.
Officials began the search for a new superintendent in January, sifting through 94 applications from 25 states.
