SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - The Town of Summerville's Board of Architectural Review gave the green light on a controversial boutique hotel project Monday evening.
The BAR gave the final vote for the proposed Dorchester boutique hotel in downtown Summerville.
The hotel would be built on 2.23 acres of land at South Cedar Street and West Richardson Avenue.
The $30 million projects is a hybrid mixture of a hotel, condominiums, a restaurant, a parking garage and a conference center.
The center would also include 27 condos and retail spaces.
Last month, the BAR gave conditional final approval to the proposed hotel voting 4-1
People against it say it's too big and does not match the charm of the town.
