CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A cruise ship passenger aboard the Disney Magic had to be airlifted to MUSC Saturday morning.
The Coast Guard was notified about the situation around 5:00 a.m.. The Coast Guard says the passenger suffered a hip and leg injury while on the ship, and it was recommended that he be medevaced. The ship was about 45 miles off the coast of Charleston.
Officials say a crew aboard an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Facility Charleston was sent to get the patient from the cruise ship.
The 29-year-old man is reportedly in stable condition.
