Three Dorchester Co. men arrested on separate child porn charges

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Three Dorchester County men have been arrested on separate child pornography charges.

The Attorney General's Office says the men were arrested by the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Charles Darin Amole, 50, of Summerville was charged with five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor second-degree. He was given a $150,000 bond. Investigators say Amole was involved in sending child pornography via file sharing.

A search warrant was obtained and executed at Amole's home on May 15.

Alex Anthony Garneau, 27, was charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor second-degree. Bond was set at $150,000. According to authorities, Garneau was involved in sending child porn via file sharing. A search warrant was obtained and executed at Garneau's home on May 14.

Maurice Varner, 69, was charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor second-degree. Varner was given a $20,000 bond. Authorities say Varner utilized social media to share child pornography.

A search warrant was obtained and executed at Varner's home on May 13.

All three cases will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
