GCPD: Loud booms heard by residents came from operations at Naval Weapons Station

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Loud booms heard by residents in Goose Creek came from operations at the Naval Weapons Station, according to authorities.

Officials with the Goose Creek Police Department say they have confirmed with the NWS communications center that military ordnance operations were held Thursday afternoon.

Viewers from Crowfield to Red Bank Road reported hearing at least two booms, then shaking.

One viewer said she heard the first boom around 2:15 p.m. and the second around 2:45 p.m.

There were no reported earthquakes in Goose Creek at this time.
