Berkeley schools to provide meals for kids during summer months

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - With the school year coming to a close, Berkeley County schools are keeping their doors open for the Summer Feeding Program. They will be providing free hot meals to children under 18 on week days from June 8 to August 7.

Their stated intention is to provide children with access to healthy meals throughout the year.

From Monday through Friday, breakfasts will be served from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Eight schools will be participating in the program, in addition to 65 other locations throughout Berkeley County.

The schools participating are the following:

J.K. Gourdin Elementary School

St. Stephen Elementary School

Berkeley Middle School

Boulder Bluff Elementary School

Westview Primary School

Hanahan High School

Goose Creek Primary School

H.E. Bonner Elementary School
