CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Parents who have enrolled their children in one Hollywood elementary school must wait longer before knowing if they will indeed attend class at the school this upcoming year.

On Monday night, the Charleston County School Board pulled a motion to delay the opening of CC Blaney Center for Advanced Learning.

The Audit and Finance Committee recommended that the school board delay re-opening the school, formerly known as CC Blaney Elementary School, to the 2016-2017 school year. The school has been closed for the duration of the past school year in order to prepare for its future as a magnet school.

According to the recommendation, additional expenditure for the school is estimated at $900,000. A delay would allow "the ability to be further prepared in opening the school" and for more students to become enrolled. Currently, 72 students at the K-3 school are enrolled.

The motion to delay the re-opening of the school will be reconsidered at the district's next board meeting.
