One man dead after a fatal car crash on Highway 41
BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Berkeley County Coroner's Office and SC Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal car crash that happened Sunday morning on Highway 41.
Officials say the driver was heading north just before he ran off the right side of the road, overturned several times, and struck several trees. The car then caught fire.
Officers say the driver was pronounced dead the scene.
He has been identified as 24 year old Julian Tyler Spears of Mount Pleasant, per the Berkeley County Coroner.
A passenger in the car was ejected and taken to MUSC. The passenger was not wearing a seat belt.
It is unclear if the driver's seat belt was in use.
