CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Water has been turned on for some downtown Charleston residents as crews work to repair a main break Rutledge Ave between Peachtree and San Souci streets, Charleston Water System says.
The street was closed while crews worked to fix it Sunday. The break was first reported by Charleston Police at 5:20 a.m.
Charleston Water System tweeted at 9 a.m. that crews were working to fix a 16-inch water main break, and 60 customers were without water.
The water utility tweeted at 5 p.m. that they were turning the water back on.
Authorities say all water has been cleared from the roadway.
