Investigators capture fugitive accused of shooting teen in Williamsburg Co.

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators have captured a fugitive wanted for shooting a teenager in Williamsburg County.

Darrell Brooks, 45, of Hemingway has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Brooks' charges stems from a July 24 shooting incident in the parking lot of Tracey's Place in Hemingway.

According to the Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office, the 16-year-old victim is in an area hospital recovering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Brooks is currently locked up at the Williamsburg County Detention Center.
