Deputies: 2 arrested in fatal Kingstree shooting

KINGSTREE, SC (WCSC) - Two people are facing charges in a fatal early-morning shooting.

Charlie Adams, 25; and Marydell Bruce, 24, both of Kingstree, are charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to Williamsburg County Sheriff's Inv. Alex Edwards.

Deputies responded to a shooting on Janice Loop in Kingstree at approximately 2:42 a.m. Friday.

The victim was lying in the roadway and had sustained a fatal gunshot wound, deputies say.

Investigators say a dispute from an earlier incident between the Adams and the victim led to the shooting.

Adams and Bruce were apprehended a short distance from the scene and were booked at the Williamsburg County Detention Center, Edwards said.

The investigation is ongoing.
