44th Annual Scottish Games return to Boone Hall Saturday

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - The Clans will unite this weekend at Boone Hall Plantation. Head out for a taste of Scotland at the 44th annual Charleston Scottish Games and Highland Gathering. The event is held by the Scottish Society of Charleston every year and once again will feature traditional Scottish music, games and dress.

The all-day event, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm includes music and dancing, athletic competitions, a beer garden and activities for kids too. The piping and drumming competition is one of the biggest in the southeast according to the SSOC. When you're not watching athletes compete in events like the Sheaf Toss, the Stone of Strength or the Caber Toss, you can also check out more about Scottish heritage in the Celtic Nations Tent. You can try you skills at Scottish dancing or check out Rugby and Border Collie demonstrations.

Tickets for adults are $20 in advance ($25 on the day of the games), $5 for kids 6-12 and FREE for kids younger than 6. Parking is also $5. For more information on additional events and to purchase tickets online, click here.
