MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - While the Lowcountry begins recovery efforts, many are offering a helping hand to the Midlands first.
A collection drive was held at Target in Mount Pleasant Tuesday to help those impacted by the storm.
A group called Ki9dness Captured organized the event. Volunteers expected to fill a horse trailer with items, but they did even more.

They filed a truck, trailer, second trailer, and two SUV's. They were packed with water, toilet paper, toiletries, food, books, games, toys, clothing and more.

The items went to area Columbia shelters.
