CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the City of Charleston say they have been receiving reports from residents saying they have been approached by people claiming to be FEMA adjustors.

"The City of Charleston has checked with FEMA officials and they assure us that those personnel are NOT part of any FEMA damage assessment team for either individual assistance or public assistance," city officials said."Make sure you ask to  see a valid ID and a claim number that you received when you applied for assistance. You will never be asked for money from the FEMA teams. Be wary of scams!"
