Mayor Summey to be given MUSC Healthy Communities Award Thursday

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey is expected to be honored this morning with the MUSC Healthy Communities Award.

He was chosen for the honor for his work spearheading a pivotal land donation to MUSC for the expansion of services.

The recognition is happening this morning at 10:00 a.m. on the corner of Mall Drive and Rivers Avenue.

Publix will provide vaccinations by appointment at 42 of its pharmacies statewide.

The City of Charleston says they will also participate in a COVID-19 memorial that will be occurring concurrently nationwide.
