NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Early Halloween morning, Lowcountry CARTA drivers put their skills to test in an annual bus rodeo competition, aimed at keeping the scare out of the daily commute.
The skills competition, held at Parking lot E of the North Charleston Coliseum, featured an obstacle course, with the best of the best qualifying for a regional competition in Mt. Pleasant next year.
The event began with buses on the paratransit system, and ended with a skills competition of some of CARTA's biggest buses, at 40 feet. As many as 15 drivers competed Saturday.
The annual bus rodeo was funded by CARTA operating partner, TransDev.
