LADSON, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office say a teen who told investigators that he was stabbed or cut by someone at the Coastal Carolina Fair made the story up.
Authorities say the juvenile originally reported the incident on Nov. 1 that he was injured at an unknown location by an unknown person at the fair.
"Today he was interviewed by Det. Khan, with his parents present, and admitted that a friend of his was playing with a knife, opening and closing it, when he was accidentally cut," CCSO officials announced Friday night. "He went on to say that they panicked and threw the knife away. When the deputies questioned them they made up the story because he didn't want his friend to get in trouble."
The sheriff's office say there are no plans to charge either juvenile at this time.
