JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Authorities have identified a body that was found on Johns Island Thursday night.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office says the body of 46-year-old William Long of Johns Island was recovered from a pond on Shady Oak Drive.

According to the coroner's office, the cause and manner of the death are pending.

Officials say the Charleston County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

The sheriff's office reported Thursday night that their dive and marine patrol located the body.

Long was reported missing by a family member who told deputies Long went hunting some time Wednesday night and never returned to his home, according to Charleston County Sheriff's Maj. Eric Watson.

Long was last seen Wednesday night, deputies say.
