Red Cross assisting residents following North Charleston house fire

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Red Cross is assisting seven people after their North Charleston home caught on fire Friday afternoon.

North Charleston Fire Department officials say crews responded to reports of a house fire in the 2800 block of Ranger Drive just before 5 p.m.

"First arriving units reported heavy fire and smoke coming from the single story home," NCFD officials said."All residents escaped unharmed and the fire is out."

No injuries were reported.

According to NCFD officials, seven residents were displaced by the fire and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
