HOLLYWOOD, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say an attempted murder suspect surrendered to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office after learning the US Marshals were searching for him.

Clarence Everette Green, 31, of Aiken was arrested on Tuesday in connection to a shooting in December that injured one person in Hollywood.

According to CCSO officials, when the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force contacted Green he told them,"US Marshals were in Aiken, SC. looking for me...I don't want any trouble...I surrender!"

Green's arrest stems from an incident on Dec. 15 when an argument ensued between the victim and Green's mother about a vehicle at a home on Heyward Smalls Road.

CCSO investigators say Green's mother called her son who arrived and began an argument with the victim.

According to investigators, Green shot the victim and fled the scene. The victim was transported to MUSC for two gunshots to his leg.

The victim told deputies that Green had shot him because they were arguing about a vehicle.
