Police: 8 arrested in N. Charleston prostitution sting

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police arrested eight people Wednesday in a prostitution reverse operation throughout the city.

The department's S.P.E.E.D. Team Unit made the arrests in locations along Remount Road, Troy Road and Rivers Avenue, according to police spokesperson Spencer Pryor. The ages of the suspects range from 19 to 52, according to arrest records.

Michael Butler, Herbert Frink, Harold Ravenel, Brady Townes, Jeremy Bailem and Jason Bailem were all charged with solicitation of prostitution; Hezzy Croney was charged with solicitation of prostitution and simple possession of marijuana and Tony Middleton, Jr., was charged with breach of peace.

In a prostitution reverse operation, a female officer portrays a prostitute, wears a microphone and records people attempting to purchase sex.
