Police searching for suspect in Pringletown armed robbery

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery case out of Berkeley County.

Pringletown Quick Stop on Old Gilliard Road near Ridgeville was held up around 11 p.m., according to authorities from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect fired the gun inside the Quick Stop and tried to fire a second time but the video shows the gun apparently malfunctioned.

Authorities say the suspect then fled the scene with $4,500 and 16 packs of Newport cigarettes.

Security cameras captured the incident on film.

Police say the suspect is a black male who is roughly six feet tall, has a thin mustache and goatee, and was wearing a black jacket with camouflage pants and blue sneakers.

This is an ongoing investigation.
