NCPD: Six arrested in prostitution pick-up operation

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested six people Tuesday after community complaints of prostitution occurring in North Charleston.

The North Charleston Police S.P.E.E.D. Team conducted the prostitution pick-up operation after people complained about prostitution happening during the morning and early-afternoon hours, police spokesman Spencer Pryor said.

Records indicate 58-year-old Susan Banda of N. Charleston, 45-year-old Stephanie Berry of Hanahan, 53-year-old Loretta Isaac of N. Charleston and 38-year-old Crystal Fortson of Greenwood each face a charge of solicitation for prostitution.

Malissa Chandler, 45, of N. Charleston is charged with solicitation for prostitution third offense and 33-year-old Alicia Mclaughlin of N. Charleston is charged with solicitation for prostitution sixth offense and possession of cocaine base, booking records state.
