Cops: Mt. Pleasant bank robber caught in Mississippi after car wreck
MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - A suspected Mt. Pleasant bank robber was captured in Mississippi.
Officials with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department say Kyle Edward Templeton was arrested on Tuesday by troopers of the Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop K during an investigation of a vehicle collision that happened at a rest stop off I-10.
"Upon his return to South Carolina, Templeton will be charged with Entering a Bank with the Intent to Steal," Mt. Pleasant PD officials said."Templeton also faces criminal charges in Mississippi. Templeton is currently lodged at the Hancock County Detention Center in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi."
Police say the Mt. Pleasant bank robbery happened on April 22 at the CresCom Bank in the 1400 block of Highway 17 North when a suspect demanded money and kept his hand in his pocket alluding to the fact that he had a weapon.
"The suspect left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money," MPPD officials said.
