CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A longtime Charleston health center has been chosen to receive nearly a million dollars in federal grant money.
The Franklin C. Fetter Family Health Center is one of three South Carolina centers chosen to split a $2.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Charleston health center will receive $984,551 of the total.
The $260 million in federal grants announced Wednesday will help facilities around the country renovate or expand facilities to serve more patients.
Family Health Centers in Orangeburg will be awarded $1,000,000 and Lowcountry Health Care System in Fairfax gets $325,000.
