CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - West Ashley Circle has been reopened after an accident caused a cleaning solution spill Monday morning.
Part of West Ashley Circle near Bees Ferry Road was blocked as emergency responders cleaned up the scene.
Charleston County dispatchers say the two-vehicle crash was called in around 6 a.m. Monday.
The two vehicles collided when one was turning left onto West Ashley Circle from Bees Ferry Road and the other disregarded a traffic signal, according to authorities.
Charleston Fire Department officials say one of the vehicles, a pickup truck, was carrying a 55-gallon drum of cleaning solution.
"The container was damaged and DOT was brought in with a sand truck to assist with clean up," CFD officials said.
Charleston police officers and Hazmat crews also responded.
