Berkeley Co. deputies make arrest in Goose Creek shooting

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Berkeley County deputies have arrested a man in connection to a shooting that sent one person to the hospital in Goose Creek this past weekend.
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office arrested 20-year-old Elijah Jai Junior of Johns Island and charged him with discharging a firearm into a vehicle, unlawful carrying of a pistol, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
"These charges resulted after investigating the shooting by viewing the related videos, witness accounts and physical evidence examination," BCSO officials said."Junior was on foot at the time of time of the shooting."
Junior was locked up at the Hill Finklea Detention Center and is being held on a $20,000 surety bond.
The sheriff's office is continuing the investigation.

Deputies responded to a panic alarm at 3:07 p.m. Saturday at the Rainbow Mart Store located at 1055 Old Back River Road in Goose Creek.
The call reported that shots were heard in the immediate area around the store.
At 3:25 p.m., a drive by shooting was reported in the 100 block of Rosedale Avenue, just a few blocks from the Rainbow Mart.
At some point, unknown men in a dark colored Chrysler 200, started firing shots out of the vehicle as it sped away, according to Chief Deputy Mike Cochran.
One of the men from the white Camry was shot in the gunfire exchange.
