Police arrest man accused of taking off with Good Samaritan's car

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston investigators say they have arrested a man who stole a Good Samaritan's car in West Ashley.

CPD officials announced on Thursday that Daniel Coggins is in custody.

Coggins was arrested Wednesday afternoon on Ashely Hall Road.

He's accused of stealing a 2014 Chevy Cruze.

The vehicle was stolen from 5th Avenue and Magnolia Road on Nov. 9.

Coggins stole the vehicle when a good Samaritan stopped to render aid in an accident, and accidentally left the keys in the vehicle, Francis said

The vehicle was recovered.
