CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol arrested a Charleston police officer for allegedly driving under the influence Saturday night.
Kate Cloxton, 27, of Charleston, is charged with DUI.
A fellow Charleston police officer initiated a traffic stop around 11:50 p.m. in the area of Sam Rittenburg Boulevard and Downing Street.
Cloxton, who was off duty, was behind the wheel of her personal vehicle, according to a statement from the police department.
South Carolina Highway Patrol was called to the scene and took over the investigation.
Cloxton was being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
