Officers investigating after shooting in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Officers are investigating after a man was found shot on a North Charleston street.

A victim was taken to an area hospital shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday after officers found him lying near the roadway on the 4000 block of Marylin Drive, suffering a "grazing" gunshot wound to the head, according to an incident report.

A neighbor said she didn't hear gunshots during the incident, but looked outside her window when she heard a car speeding towards Kirshtein Street. She told officers the car looked like a white Nissan Altima, but she did not get a plate number.

A report of shots fired came from the same location the night before, and a white Nissan Altima was seen speeding from the area. Officers were able to stop and identify the occupants of the vehicle, the report states.

Officers were able to find the vehicle again at the Inn Town Suites in West Ashley Sunday, the report adds.
