. - The Clemson Tigers fell to the Kansas Jayhawks in the Sweet 16, but Lowcountry fans say they couldn't be prouder.
"I am very proud of their accomplishment getting to the Sweet 16. I think that's awesome. They did a great job," said a member of the Charleston Clemson Club.
Clemson alumni and fans packed the Charleston Sports Pub in West Ashley during Friday's game.
Fans watched the highs and lows of two long halves.
"Down by 20, 4 points there at the end, not too bad," Charles Taylor said.
Taylor said it was a hard fight to the finish, and was almost one for the ages.
"I just think that Clemson really fought hard at the end. I wish they would have won, but I'm really proud of them. They came back and did a great job," said a member of the Charleston Clemson Club.
Fans young and old clapped even as they lost.
But they weren't sad about the ending, instead they were proud that they got there.
The Tigers reached the regional semifinals for the first time since 1997.
