PINOPOLIS, SC (WCSC) - The Berkeley County coroner identified a man who drowned Sunday afternoon in Lake Moultrie.
Jason Williams, 26, was wading with his cousin Sunday at approximately 1 p.m. in the Pinopolis community near Moncks Corner when he stepped into an area over his head and went under, Coroner Bill Salisbury said.
Williams's body was recovered shortly after that by the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office and firefighters, Salisbury said.
EMS took Williams to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Salisbury ruled the death accidental.
