Driver suffers serious injuries, burns after car fire in Charleston County

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A driver suffered serious injuries and burns after a car fire in Charleston County.
Just after 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Charleston County deputies responded to a report of an accident with injuries on Bears Bluff Road near Wampee Plantation Road on Wadmalaw Island.
According to the sheriff's office, the driver of a Toyota Camry drove off the roadway and struck several trees.
A report states the vehicle overturned and caught fire.
"The St. Johns Fire Department extricated the driver from the vehicle," CCSO officials said."He was transported to a hospital with serious injuries and burns.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Traffic Division."
