Hanahan softball wins game one of state championship series
(WCSC) - Emily Elmore's two-run double in the first inning proved to be enough as Hanahan beat Palmetto 2-1 to take a 1-0 lead in the best of three state championship series.
Drayton Siegling was effective inside the circle for Hanahan. The College of Charleston commit allowed only one run in seven innings.
The Hawkettes will travel to Palmetto Wednesday night with a chance to claim back-to-back state titles.
Game three, if necessary, will be played Friday night at a site to be determined.
In other state title games on Monday, the Dorchester Academy softball team is one win away from a SCISA A state title after a 4-3 win over Wardlaw.
In baseball, Dorchester Academy also picked up a win in game 1 of the SCISA A state title series with a 6-2 win over Holly Hill Academy.
Game 2 of both series will be played on Tuesday.
