LADY'S ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Beaufort County deputies say a viewer tip led to the recovery of a truck stolen after a home invasion on Lady's Island.

Deputies say the incident happened on Hilda Avenue where multiple people entered the victim's home and demanded cash and property. The intruders then stole the victim's black 2014 GMC Duramax pick-up truck and other items, deputies say.

After watching a newscast about the home invasion and stolen GMC pickup truck Saturday night, a viewer called deputies saying they recalled seeing a truck matching its description abandoned on Dolly Lane, Lady's Island.

Deputies confirmed the truck was the stolen vehicle and examined and processed the truck for forensic evidence, including fingerprints and DNA, then towed from Dolly Lane.

The home invaders have not yet been located or identified.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office at 843-524-2777.
