AJ Green back home for kids camp
SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - AJ Green doesn't hold a camp in Summerville every offseason, but when he does, the kids come out.
The former Green Wave star was back on the field where he first made a name for himself on Saturday morning hosting dozens of high school kids for a skills camp at McKissick Field.
"I still get goosebumps walking in here" Green said. "Just remembering all the great memories that I made here. All the fans we had here, it's unbelievable. This is where it all started, it's unbelievable to see some of my coaches that saw me grow up here and saw me chase these goals in life."
It's been 10 years since Green last played on this field, when he helped Summerville advance to a state title game with a win over Gaffney.
Now, Green is getting ready for another season in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and even though he's one of the elder statesmen on his team now, he's not looking at retiring any time soon.
"I feel like I got a lot left in the tank. I always said I'm gonna play until I don't love practice no more. So if I don't love practice I'm gonna quit playing because Sunday's are easy to get up for.
