BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Deputies are searching for two suspects involved in an armed robbery at a Lowcountry Dollar General.

It happened Sunday afternoon at the Dollar General on 5208 State Rd. in the Holly Hill area of Berkeley County.

An employee told Berkeley County deputies that two male subjects entered the store and demanded money from the safe and the register.

Surveillance video showed a van pull up to the store at 3:43 p.m. with two of the suspects entering the business with guns raised.

A report states one of the suspects took a position beside the door, showing his gun to customers inside, while the second suspect ran to the register and safe. The witnesses said the suspect near the door was telling people to get on the ground.

The sheriff's office said the employee complied with the suspect's orders and provided him with money in the register, and opened the safe.

The suspect also demanded the manager to get cigarettes, and was provided with four packs of Newport 100s.

The suspects then can be seen leaving the store.

The sheriff's office describes the first suspect as a black male, 5"11' with a thin build who was armed with a silver/nickel handgun. Authorities say he was wearing a gray hoodie, white shirt (visible below the hoodie), blue jeans, gloves, and black or gray shoes.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 5'10" with a thin build. Deputies say he was wearing a black hoodie, black bandanna, black pants, gloves and wearing black shoes with white laces and white trim. He was armed with a black handgun.

If anyone has information about the identity of the suspects in this case, please call the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office at 843-719-4465 or Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111.
