TAKE A STAND: Cave Rescue

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - We all breathed a collective sigh of relief when news came that all 12 boys and their soccer coach have been rescued from a flooded cave in Thailand.

For 18 days, this story has captured the attention and the hearts of the world. The Thai Navy Seals are heroes for planning and executing a complicated and dangerous rescue plan...so dangerous that one volunteer died from a lack of oxygen while taking oxygen inside the cave for the boys.

It's been an emotional roller coaster for everyone, but imagine the worry and fear felt by those brave little boys, their coach and their loved ones.

In letters written to their families, the boys said not to worry, that they wanted fried chicken, and hope their teachers don't give them too much homework.

I don't think they'll have to worry about that for a while.

There's still concern for their health, but we pray they will all be fine. In a time when the world seems so divided, it's great to see so many touched by a story with a happy ending.
