4 more talking statues could be coming to downtown Charleston
CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - What if statues could talk? Well, some can in downtown Charleston, and a City of Charleston History Commission meeting on Wednesday could add four more.
The Charleston Stories initiative allows people to walk up to certain statues, scan a QR code, and listen to a monologue by the person the statue is built to honor.
A George Washington statue and the Confederate Defenders of Charleston statue are two that will be considered for monologues Wednesday.

The goal of the project is to encourage people to learn more about history in a way that's accurate, inclusive, and educational. No public funds have been used in the project, which is all funded by an anonymous donor.
